Plang ​is ​an ​AI-powered edtech ​startup redefining the future ​of ​English education.


Driven ​by the vision ​to “make ​humanity ​more capable,” ​Plang ​designs ​the most efficient ​learning ​experience that enables ​anyone ​to ​express their thoughts ​in English. ​Rather ​than rote ​memorization, we ​offer ​real-world speaking practice ​that builds ​communication skills for practical use.


Since launching a B2C English-speaking service for adults in 2019, Plang has grown rapidly after securing investment from Kakao Ventures in 2020. In 2023, we expanded to Japan, tripling quarterly revenue. In 2024, we entered Taiwan, releasing both Simplified and Traditional Chinese versions. Now, we are gearing up for further global expansion across Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Europe.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Japan market entry strategies:

-Identify Japan-specific user needs and define the Go-to-Market strategy.

-Conduct direct user research and market experiments.

  • Run viral/referral campaigns

-Plan and execute influencer and community-driven marketing.

-Manage and create content for Japanese social media platforms (e.g., X, Instagram).

  • Optimize for AI Search Exposure

-Structure brand content to ensure visibility on platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of marketing experience, especially in market entry, research, and campaign planning.
  • Fluent in Japanese (native) or Korean-speaking Japanese nationals welcome. (Must be eligible to obtain a work visa in Korea, if applicable.)
  • Strong understanding of Japanese culture and trends, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Self-starter with strong ownership and ability to set and pursue goals independently.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Quick executor—can turn ideas into actions at speed.
  • Active user of X (Twitter), Threads, Instagram, and other trend-heavy platforms.
  • Familiarity with Japanese online communities, SNS, and YouTube content.
  • Experience running app marketing campaigns (Google Ads, Meta, Apple Search Ads, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience in digital advertising and campaign execution within Japan (e.g., Yahoo! Japan Ads).
